ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT:

BOSS Dodgeball strongly believes that every youth, no matter the background, deserves the chance to have fun!

In celebration of Canada 150, Immigrant Services of Calgary is partnering with the City of Calgary, Genesis Centre, Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth, and Boys and Girls Club of Calgary to put together an event called Uniting Youths Through Adventure in August.

Vulnerable youths and youths at risk from all walks of life in Calgary will get the chance to have a day of fun at the Genesis Centre going through scavenger hunts and other adventures, capping off with a big BBQ feast!

BOSS Dodgeball is sponsoring the initiative through this tournament by donating all of the proceeds, which will go towards the food and supplies for the BBQ.

In Season 7, BOSS Dodgeball held a charity tournament to raise funds for Coleen’s wish to go on a Disney Cruise through Children’s Wish Foundation.

  • Every dollar that BOSS raised was doubled through the generous contribution from Molson Coors Canada
  • Through this event and with the corporate matching, the event raised a whopping $15K to go towards Coleen’s wish!

Coleen’s Story

Coleen was born after 16 days of labour. When she was born, it took 8 minutes to get her heart beating and 20 minutes to get her first breath, and she was diagnosed with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. In her short life thus far, she has spent majority of it in the hospital and cannot move freely unless she is in water. Her and her family’s wish is to go on a Disney Cruise in NYC where she will also get a chance to meet her extended family for the first time!

We truly thank every single person for their generosity! You can read more about Coleen’s story here and here.
